The morning of Karin and Craig’s wedding day of the 2nd of March 2014 dawned cold and wet. It had been raining for days already, and there was no promise of a let up. But that wasn’t going to stop these two wonderful people getting married!
Karin moved to South Africa from The Netherlands, and worked in the hospitality industry. She met Craig at a braai with some friends, and the curiosity led them to chatting, they ended up hiking the following day, and the rest really is history! Craig spent many sleepless nights working up the courage to
Karin – but he first had to get her parent’s permission. The only thing was – they lived in the Netherlands! After an interesting Skype conversation (where Karin’s parents though Craig was trying to book a room at their B&B!) Craig bravely asked them for Karin’s hand – and they said yes. Craig surprised Karin with a ‘breakfast ride’ out to the Cradle Restaurant, where they disappeared into the bush for a game drive and picnic, and he popped the question.
Karin & Craig’s wedding at Nice By Nature in Honeydew was beautiful, come rain or shine! Karin was practically bouncing around her bridal suite waiting to go down to the chapel, while Craig ran past, trying not to look at her. Family and friends came from near and far to celebrate their special day, and everyone had a great time singing (Craig’s song to Karin was beyond awesome!) and dancing outside when the rain took a break.
Thank you so much to Karin & Craig for allowing us to be a part of your day and capture such special memories – we’ll never forget it!
